BTorch has a long history of giving back to the communities in which we work and live. Our corporate charities include the Canadian Cancer Society, Save the Children, UNHCR and Child Foundation. In addition, staff across the company participate in a number of charitable events for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Big Bike for Heart & Stroke, and Food Banks.
Our office has an active Save the Planet Committee, whose role is to improve environmental awareness, reduce office waste, and improve energy efficiencies. Some of the committee’s initiatives include office composting and recycling programs, Zero Waste bulletin with tips and techniques to reduce waste in the office and at home.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. We have established policies, initiatives and systems, such as videoconferencing, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and share point documenting to reduce paper print.
